Woeful Reminisces

This work follows the idea of portraying the impact and repercussions of trauma and consists of two parts. The first part is the piece on the left side and the second part is on the right side. Both parts of the work utilise cotton linen as the base, whereby the medium used to make them is water-based ink and the 2nd part, also includes acrylic paint. The visual element that can be identified is the depiction of a television and sofa along with a partially ajar door, in the 1st part and a train window, showing the greenery outside, a table and a seat, in the 2nd. this work is made keeping in mind the idea of the aftermath of trauma, through a psychological point of view. The thought behind creating this artwork is to visualise someone else’s experiences as an audience but yet again to connect to this as one’s own and its deeper impact on the viewer's life. My artwork shows the trauma and the spiralling impact of those sufferings, as a response mechanism of the ones who have experienced it, resulting in anxiety, depression and mainly avoidance.
