I am a contemporary artist.

A recent Fine Art graduate from Arts University Bournemouth. My works typically feature colourful and abstract pieces, which are largely inspired by life experiences – about self and people.

The mythological and folklore imagery in my work is a medium to comment on our experiences through the legends of times gone past to our present day. The styles of artwork that I produce range from paintings to mixed-media installations.

The use of legends in my work is inspired by the stories I grew up listening to, which are usually centred around powerful and strong-willed women. The theme of feminism is prevalent in my work. The elements of the characters from the legends are used as a medium to communicate myself, and my experiences and a way for the viewers to reflect upon themselves. My work mainly includes paintings on canvas using acrylics or on fabric with ink.  I have also worked with aluminium wire, hand-drawn animation, video and latex. I draw a lot of my inspiration from the classical art forms and techniques from India, which I incorporate into my own abstract style. I aim to inform the audience about my culture and, at the same time,  persuade them to introspect.
