For this project, I wanted to focus on female desire, and I also wanted to include culture and identity into it. As a woman of Indian descent, I wanted to include the perspective of Indian women and their sexuality. As sex and female desire or desire in general, was and is still sort of considered a taboo topic, not only in India but many more cultures; I wanted to depict this topic as a symbol of freedom of expression since women all around the world have to undergo a lot of censorship. This project includes 3 pieces, ‘Untitled (1)’, ‘The sari’ and ‘Untitled (2)’, presented below in the following order. The main piece of the project is The sari which also has 2 parts, the fabric itself and the images.
